P-WEC's Arboretum

ProFauna's Wildlife Education Centre (www.p-wec.com), an informal education centre for wildlife conservation and animal welfare, receives 500 visitors on average per month. Visitors may find many educational materials at the "primate corner", information boards, including two cages "imprisoning" human statue.

P-WEC is building an arboretum, next to the centre. There are 30 trees planted including Garcina dulcis, Stelechocarpus burahol, Lagerstromia flos-reginae, Ficus benjamina and Lansium domesticum, Inocarpus edulis and Artocarpus elasticus.

More tress are to be planted as the intention is also to collect and conserve some rare local trees. The arboretum will provide opportunity for students who have not seen such flora species, to study them. Although it is only 2000 square meters, P-WEC's arboretum would hopefully help to reduce carbon emission.
