ProFauna Trained Government Officers
How To Treat Captive Wildlife

The General Director of East Java Forest Protection and Nature Conservation, a division of Indonesia Forestry Department, with his team of 8 officers visited ProFauna's wildlife rescue centre (Petungsewu PPS) and learned about how captive wild animals should be treated and cared for.

During their two day visit, they learned much about species information, husbandry, in-enclosure enrichment program to promote animals' freedom to express their natural behavior and to reduce boredom.
Iwan Kurniawan, the Wildlife Rescue Centre Project Manager, stated, "We hope that this action can encourage the other forestry officers, particularly the field officers, to learn how wildlife should be treated".
