P-WEC is the main camp to run the volunteering project and activities, located in a village by the foothills of Kawi Mountain, Malang - East Java. P-WEC is 10 kilometers from Malang City, the 2nd largest city in East Java Province. Malang City is known as "Education City" because it has many universities.
There are some interesting eco-tourism sites near P-WEC:
Cangar Forest
It is one of the remaining tropical rain forest in East Java which becomes the main habitat of the endangered Javan langur (sliver leaf-monkey). It is also the habitat of more than 80 endemic birds. It is 1,500 meters above sea level. It is 30 kilometers from P-WEC.
Bromo Volcano
The picturesque volcano in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park which is well-known for its beautiful landscapes and crates. It is 50 kilometers from P-WEC.
Semeru Volcano
The highest volcano in Java Island, 3,676 meters above sea level. A favorite site for mountain-hiking in Indonesia. It is 50 kilometers from P-WEC.
Nature Reserve of Sempu Island
To get to the Island, tour guide will take you to the Sendang Biru Beach, in the Southern Coastline of Greater Malang. It is the habitat of endemic wildlife like Javan langur, deer, moose deer, long-tailed macaque, hornbill, etc. It is 60 km from P-WEC.
Coban Glotak Waterfall
It is located by the foothills of Kawi Mountain and only 10 kilometers from P-WEC.
Coban Rondo Waterfall
The most famous waterfall in Greater Malang and 40 kilometers from P-WEC.
Cemorokandang Savannah
A beautiful savannah located by the foothills of Kawi Mountain and known as the Sleeping Beauty Mountain. There are many water springs. Trekking to the Savannah can start from P-WEC center.
Agrotourism of 'Batu' Apple
Batu City is very famous in Indonesia for its local apple and vegetables. You can pick and enjoy the famous apple in some plantations of agrotourism sites in Batu City. It is 10 kilometers from P-WEC.
Nature Reserve of Arjuna Mountain
Arjuna Mountain is well-known as the favourite site for trekking and hiking in Indonesia. It is 3,339 meters above sea level and inhabited by many wildlife like deer, wild boars, moose deer, leopard, Javan Hawk-eagle, etc. It is 40 kilometer from P-WEC.
